Adding a Router

VPN Manager works with MikroTik routers running RouterOS 7 or later (with WireGuard support).

Requirements

  • MikroTik router with RouterOS 7.x or later
  • Admin access to the router (username/password)
  • Router connected to the internet (can be behind NAT)

Steps to Add Router

1

Click "Add Router"

From the dashboard, click the "Add Router" button in the top right.

2

Enter Router Details

Provide a name for your router and your MikroTik admin credentials (username/password).

3

Copy the Setup Script

The system generates a configuration script. Copy it to your clipboard.

MikroTik Configuration

After getting the setup script, you need to paste it into your MikroTik router.

Using Winbox

1

Open Winbox

Connect to your router using Winbox application.

2

Open Terminal

Go to New Terminal from the menu.

3

Paste the Script

Right-click in the terminal and paste the entire script. Press Enter.

Using WebFig

You can also use WebFig (web interface) - go to Terminal and paste the script there.

Using SSH

ssh admin@192.168.88.1
# Then paste the script

Verify Connection

After pasting the script on your router:

1

Wait 10-30 seconds

The router needs time to establish the WireGuard tunnel to our server.

2

Click "Verify Connection"

Back in the web panel, click the verify button to test the connection.

3

Success!

If successful, you'll see "Router connected successfully" and can start creating VPN clients.

Connection Failed? Make sure the script was pasted completely and your router has internet access. Check the troubleshooting section.

Create VPN Client

Once your router is connected, you can create VPN client configurations.

1

Click "+ Client" on Router Card

Find your router on the dashboard and click the "+ Client" button.

2

Enter Client Name

Give your client a descriptive name (e.g., "John-Phone", "Office-Laptop").

3

Get Your Config

The system generates a WireGuard configuration with a QR code.

Connect to VPN

On Mobile (iOS/Android)

1

Install WireGuard App

Download "WireGuard" from App Store or Google Play Store.

2

Scan QR Code

Open WireGuard app, tap "+", select "Scan from QR code", and scan the QR code shown in the panel.

3

Connect

Toggle the switch to connect. You're now on VPN!

On Desktop (Windows/Mac/Linux)

1

Install WireGuard

Download from wireguard.com/install

2

Download Config File

Click "Download" button to get the .conf file.

3

Import & Connect

Open WireGuard, click "Import tunnel(s) from file", select the .conf file, then click "Activate".

Manage Clients

View and manage all your VPN clients from the "VPN Clients" page.

  • View Status - See which clients are active and their last connection time
  • Download Config - Re-download the configuration file anytime
  • Delete Client - Remove a client when no longer needed

Two-Factor Authentication (2FA)

For your security, we use email-based two-factor authentication.

When is 2FA Required?

  • New Device - When you login from a new browser or device
  • Inactive Account - If you haven't logged in for 7+ days

How It Works

1

Enter Credentials

Login with your username and password as usual.

2

Check Your Email

You'll receive a 6-digit verification code via email.

3

Enter the Code

Enter the code within 10 minutes to complete login.

Trusted Devices

When entering your 2FA code, you can check "Trust this device for 7 days" to skip 2FA on future logins from the same browser.

Security Tip: Only trust devices that are personal and secure. Don't trust shared or public computers.

Common Issues

Router Won't Connect

Possible Causes:

  • Script not pasted completely - make sure you copy the entire script
  • Router doesn't have internet access
  • RouterOS version is below 7.0 (WireGuard not supported)
  • Firewall blocking outbound UDP port 51820

Solutions:

  • Delete the router and add it again, carefully copying the full script
  • Check router's internet connection: /ping 8.8.8.8
  • Update RouterOS to version 7.x or later

VPN Client Can't Connect

Possible Causes:

  • Router is offline or disconnected
  • Client configuration is corrupted
  • Your network blocks UDP traffic

Solutions:

  • Check router status in the dashboard - should show "Online"
  • Delete the client and create a new one
  • Try connecting from a different network (e.g., mobile data)

Verification Email Not Received

  • Check your spam/junk folder
  • Make sure you entered the correct email address
  • Click "Resend Verification Email" on the login page
  • Wait a few minutes - emails can be delayed

2FA Code Not Working

  • Codes expire after 10 minutes - request a new one
  • Make sure you're entering the most recent code
  • Check that you're entering all 6 digits correctly

Frequently Asked Questions

Can I use this with a router behind NAT/CGNAT?

Yes! Our system uses a management tunnel that works even when your router is behind NAT or CGNAT. The router connects outbound to our server.

What MikroTik models are supported?

Any MikroTik router running RouterOS 7.0 or later with WireGuard support. This includes most modern models like hAP series, RB series, CCR series, etc.

How many devices can connect to one VPN client?

Each VPN client configuration should be used on one device only. Create separate clients for each device.

Is my data secure?

Yes. WireGuard uses state-of-the-art cryptography. Your traffic is encrypted end-to-end between your device and the router.

What happens when my trial expires?

Your VPN configurations will be disabled. Contact support to upgrade to a paid plan and restore access.
